My name is Alexandra and I am a 40 something year old Mum of two girls and one granddaughter.  I absolutely adore anything Crochet and sometimes sewing.  I first had the idea of starting a little blog when I was in hospital being treated for Anorexia, Depression and Addiction although never had the self esteem to do it, but here I am!  Its been a long journey and I still have a little way to go but I’m gonna get there!!

In 2015, myself and two friends attended a Crochet class at a local yarn shop and since that fateful day I have been totally hooked (see what I did there!) on Crochet.  I founded a small group on Facebook soon after our little crochet taster session called Crochet Beginners Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/crochetbeginnersgroup).  In the very beginning, there were only 5 of us as members but it grew extremely quickly and over 5 years on, we have over 140k members from around the world.

My “day (sometimes night) job” is a mental health nurse in a hospital in Bristol, UK and I absolutely ADORE my job.  Yes it can be very hard and upsetting at times but seeing someone recover and knowing that you have been there along the way to encourage and support them is priceless and humbling.

When I’m not crocheting you will often find me with my head in a book or in the summer, tending to my garden. 

I hate Wasps (what is the point of them?), Spiders (yuck) and Lemon Curd (Devils food).

I have a rescue Cat called Charlie who is very naughty but very cute.

And two beautiful Red Head girls as well as a new baby granddaughter.
